90/365 - My two left feet.

It has been one of those days today, rushing round like a blue bottomed fly, so glad to get home tonight and take me shoes off, so what better shot for today than my shoes.

89/365 - Near my house is this view.

Prompted by seeing some of c@rljones' recent pano's of his trip to Iceland and around his mother land of Wales I thought it was about time I got back out and did some landscape stuff. Was kinda hoping for some decent'ish weather this afternoon but alas it wasn't happening so I had to settle for a murky time instead. Made the best of it though and converted the shot to b&w and added some grain in Photoshop after stitching two images together using the photomerge option.

88/365 - My Shed.

Is summer on it's way? Don't know but I have been tidying up the garden today just in case it is.
And before anyone asks, yes that is a snowboard in my shed. It's one I broke in Breckenridge a few years ago and have been meaning to make into a garden bench but not got around to it.

87/365 - At the car wash

First day back with the 40D and I was hoping to get out and about but helped out at a charity car wash at the fire station today. Great fun but bloody hard going at times.

86/365 - Guess who's back....

I am very happy today as my 40d came back from being fixed. 3 days is all it took from sending it away to getting it back. It turned out the shutter mech broke. So had that fixed and the camera serviced in what must near record time. Huge thanks to the good guys and girls at Sendean Cameras. Top job many thanks.

Oh the other bit of good news today is that I am feeling a little better, Enough to go out and have a few beers better!!

85/365 - I'm Ill.

Plain and simple tonight. I have man flu. What more do I need, Pile of tissues, remote control and a pint of squash.

84/365 - A tiny atom...

I picked up the wife new notebook today and I am very impressed with it. She brought an Acer Aspire One, Intel Atom processor, 1gb ram and 120gb HDD, pretty good spec's considering the size of it.
Took this using her Ricoh R5 set to macro mode. Then selectively coloured it in Photoshop.

Good news on my 40d today, should hopefully have it back on Friday, it was the shutter mech that had failed. Over use I think... Not talking about the cost though. It still hurts.

83/365 - Something is missing i think...

Had to send my 40d away for repair today and I feel lost without it. Hopefully she will only be away until the end of the week but will know more tomorrow when the repair company call me to break the good or bad news. Not sure on exact problem yet but it is to do with the shutter button activation, I think. So having to make do with the wife's Point and Shoot Ricoh R5 and my mobile for the time being.

82/365 - Fire Fire Fire.

Well it had to happen during my 365 project that i would be able to get a shot from a fire shout. This was taken on the roof of the Hoops Inn which has has suffered massive thatch fire, luckily over half the building was untouched and the fire was confined to one end, But still it a pretty sorry sight to see. This was taken as we were pulling the thatch from the roof.

This shot was taken on my Nokia 6220c mobile, my 40d decided at the start of the wedding season to break. But more on that in tomorrows blog shot.

81/365 - I don't do the P word.

The p word being picnic but seeing as it is mothers day today I buckled under the pressure and took my lovely wife and our son out to Marwood Hill Gardens for a lovely day out. Happy Mothers Day darling, hope you enjoyed it.

80/365 - Um.. Fruit salad.

Didn't have much time for a shot today but picked up some fresh fruit from the local market this morning, Thought a nice fruit salad shot would be better than another sunset one, but when it came to taking the shot realised the cheap fruit I got wasn't quite as good as it looked earlier today. Oh well. Will stick to outdoor shots again tomorrow.

79/365 - Three stones.

Took another walk out tonight on Saunton Beach, no surf tonight so limited photographic opportunities, or so I thought. Ended up walking the whole way looking at the floor, spotted several stones I liked and made this stack.
Processed in Lightroom only to give it a vintage dreamy Californian look.

78/365 - Lonely tree

On the way back from shooting the tank I found this lonely tree in a massive clearing. So naturally took some shots of it. This was my favourite of the tree shots. It shouldn't be really as shortly after taking I got a ruddy wasp sting on my foot. Made for an interesting walk back to the van, Followed by a trip to the doctors as my foot swelled up like never before. Thank god for antihistamines.

77/365 - Sunset beach.

Ventured out earlier this evening for a sunset stroll on the beach. Just couldn't resist a few shots! Out of all of them I like this one the best, love the simplicity of it, I know having the horizon dead centre shouldn't work but I think it does here. Processed in Lightroom to give a touch of a vintage feel to it.

76/365 - Fun in the sun.

Still blessed with some seriously cracking weather, decided to give Jack some play time in the garden this afternoon. Not sure who had most fun, him or me.

Monday 16 March 2009

75/365 - I've been flasing in a field!!!

Spurred on by yesterday good weather though i would make an effort to get out and about again today. Typically didn't make it out till the sun was setting so headed back to the field of tall grass near my house.
Took this laying on my back with flash off camera fired by poverty wizard from high left behind me through stoffen.

Sunday 15 March 2009

74/365 - Oi! Stop pointing that thing at me.

Took the good lady wife and boy out for a nice sunny stroll around Crow Point this afternoon, did plan on using one of the three other shots for today's image but this one stood out. Looks like my boy might be getting a little tired of having his picture taken so tried to put a rock in my lens.

These were the other three choices.

1. - Vintage Boat
2. - Look Out
3. - Still on the look out!!

Saturday 14 March 2009

73/365 - Come on boys.

Jackson settling down to watch the Wales Italy games in his new Welsh rugby top. Processed in Lightroom using one of the many new presets I have found on my travel around various lightroom forums and tutorial sites. Jack stayed happy in his rock for about 15 mins then preferred the comfort of his Mum, until Shanklin puts one over the line to take Wales ahead in the closing minutes.

Friday 13 March 2009

72/365 - Tiffany, my wine.

Not really sure where I was going with today shot so started to tidy the house instead. Spotted the wife's "drink" on the side and saw my shot, so a little processing in lightroom and here it is.
BTW I think tonight is my worst title yet. Possibly. Sorry.

71/365 - Where am I ??

Rubbish weather today nothing but mist and drizzle, so nothing other to shoot than tree's in the mist and process the hell out of them in Lightroom. The preset is called SchwinnBreeze.

Wednesday 11 March 2009

70/365 - Todays shoot.

Had a great shoot today with Mrs X. Can't show any of the images as it would unfair for you guys to see them before she does. And they are private. So here's a heavy shopped one... Sorry.
After checking all my gear yesterday only ended up using one light and my softbox, typical.

68/365 :: Ummm. Warm milk at bed.

A big day here in our house. Since he was born 383 days ago, my good wife has put our boy to bed, tonight for the first time he didn't need his Mum, his dad and some warm milk did the trick... Oh plus a few tears, some stories and a lot of patience.

67/365 - Roath Park.

For a brief moment in time the rain held off and we were able to take a very quick walk around Roath Park in Cardiff. Lovely place, for about 5 mins then the heavens opened and we got soaked, typically we were at the furthest point from the car and no place to shelter.
Processed this one in Lightroom only, for some reason during upload it has gone a bit dark. Or it could just be my eye's at this time of the morning.

66/365 - Here fishy fishy.

Have been spending the weekend in Cardiff with the wife's brother and wife. I just love that city.
Today was a day full of shopping and drinking but the boy seemed pretty happy just to watch the fish go by in his uncle and aunties tank. Not sure the fish were happy to have his dirty fingers smeared all over their nice clean glass.

Saturday 7 March 2009

65/365 - Are we there yet.

Sorry for the late update, have gone away for the weekend and didn't get to my destination till late in the evening. So got up early to do yesterdays image. Took this whilst on my travels around North Devon yesterday during work, we have had new 180 mirrors fitted and they are funky, almost fisheye. Have realised this morning my laptop has the processing capabilities of a wet fish so there will be no updates from me now until Monday when I am home, although I will still be taking my shots I just won't have anyway to edit them. Until Monday.

Thursday 5 March 2009

64/365 - More snow.

Woke up this morning to more snow, not much but enough to make it look pretty. So grabbed the camera and got this on the way to work. Processed in lightroom only using one of a series of new presets I downloaded the other day, this one is from a set created by Sarah-Ji over at PresetsHeaven

63/365 For Meg...

I was told yesterday that a certain someone became inspired after reading my blog and seeing what I have shot so far for my 365 project. Her first shot after looking at my photostream on flickr and here was some pencils. So for you Meg here's my poor attempt at shooting some pencils.

Tuesday 3 March 2009

62/365 - Rain drop keep falling on........

Stuck inside this afternoon with my outside shot in ruins I could only look on as the garden flooded.
Trying out some new Lightroom presets today, some are funky some are tripe.

Monday 2 March 2009

61/365 - Watch them shimmy.

Not overly happy with how this turned out tonight, have been looking at these tall grasses for a few weeks now and planned to do this shot for a while, but it looked different in my head. What I wanted was to have the central grass in the foreground with the rest shimmying in the wind. But it's ok and good to have something to work on for next time then compare the two. Just realised only 304 more photo's to go today.

Sunday 1 March 2009

60/365 - Crosus or crocthem.

Normally not a fan of flower photography but saw these out of the corner of my eye in the front garden this afternoon. Was hoping to get out for a couple of sunset shots but been stupidly busy today what with meeting a lovely couple for who I am shooting their wedding in an amazing location just outside of Bristol, and another client collecting his HUGE canvas print, hope he gets it home to Kent in one piece, plus family time. So busy busy, but it is all good.
